Back in October 1994, a bright red Vauxhall Cavalier pulled off the forecourt of Thame Service Station, driven by the very first satisfied customer of the company now known as Thame Cars. Owned by Karl White, a local businessman who has lived in Thame for over 30 years, Thame Cars’ Director Nick Allen has been with the company for over 25 years and the majority of staff are local to Thame. Since its beginnings on Park Street, the business has moved to much bigger premises on Rycote Lane, and continues to offer sales, servicing, maintenance and vehicle hire. But with new purpose-built facilities, Thame Cars now provides its customers with the highest comfort and service levels. The Company seeks to ensure that car ownership is a ‘Safe, Simple, Convenient and Happy experience’ for all customers, and to achieve this Karl and Nick look for five core behaviours in their staff: Honesty, Teamwork, Care, Willingness and a Can-do attitude. Celebrating its 27th anniversary this year, Thame Cars is looking forward to the next decade and has set a target of providing ‘a billion miles of motoring smiles’ over the next ten years.
